Sensory issues are so funny. No I can’t eat the spaghetti you bought a slightly thicker spaghetti than usual. And today isn’t a spaghetti day! Oh nevermind today I don’t care. I have so little texture related sensory issues I’m so glad. Nvm I can feel all of my seams and I’m wearing the good pants and also please get me scissors I haven’t cut the tag out of my new shirt yet. Oh my sensory issues with sound are nonexistent. ”getting thicker skin” is great in theory but I think for some people “get better at handling your thin skin” is gonna be way more helpful advice. I have strong emotional reactions to criticism and they might never go away, but i can continue to try and handle each situation maturely and that’s the important part. Sometimes irrational feelings are chronic and living with them is better than trying to beat yourself up into not having them.
Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria is a recognized symptom of many neurodivergencies, and honestly sometimes it’s just helpful for me to recognize that’s what’s happening. Like logically that person does not think terribly of me; I just am projecting my feelings about myself onto them. It’s like knowing that your smoke alarm is wildly sensitive and goes off if you try to toast a slice of bread; the noise is still there and still annoying but you at least know that there’s not a scarier cause than just your wiring malfunctioning again.

more people need to know they’re real because look at this, this is some real walking with dinosaurs shit
they have powerful legs allowing them to run up to 20mph and leap to impressive heights with ease
they are extremely swift and fearless, quick enough to take down a sizable rattlesnake and other large prey animals like lizards and mice
they have several unique adaptations to thermoregulate, such as the dark patch of feathers on their back which acts as a solar panel to absorb heat, or its crest that either releases or absorbs heat by exposing its skin
they have these long, stiff tailfeathers that they use as a counterbalance when running, very reminiscent of the rod-like tail of a dromaeosaur
and they are capable of bursts of flight/gliding with incredibly beautiful plumage
I’m genuinely shocked how many people think they’re made up, they are real and they are AWESOME
